Lakes Region Retina Officially Opening: January 20th, 2026

Dr Williams

David Williams, MD, MBA, a board-certified retina specialist with more than 35 years of experience, will officially open Lakes Region Retina on January 20, 2026. We are an independent specialty clinic dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of retinal disease. Our newly constructed medical facility in Baxter will begin accepting patients and physician referrals on on that same day.

Dr. Williams’s vision for Lakes Region Retina is to provide comprehensive medical retina care, including treatment for macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal detachments, retinal vascular disorders, and other complex retinal conditions. Our space was thoughtfully designed to offer a comfortable, efficient environment for patients and their families while delivering state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic services.

“Lakes Region Retina was intentionally located in Baxter, a centrally positioned community that allows patients easier access to advanced retinal care,” said Dr. Williams. “My goal is to provide highly personalized, one-on-one specialty care while reducing the need for long-distance travel for patients and their families.”

Recognizing that many retinal conditions require ongoing treatment and transportation assistance from caregivers, Lakes Region Retina aims to reduce travel burdens by bringing world-class retina care closer to home. Our practice emphasizes patient-centered workflows designed to minimize wait times while maintaining the highest clinical standards.

“Every aspect of Lakes Region Retina was designed with patients in mind,” Dr. Williams added. “My staff and I are committed to making each visit as comfortable, efficient, and reassuring as possible for patients and their loved ones.”

In addition to serving patients, Lakes Region Retina will work closely with referring optometrists and physicians throughout the region to ensure seamless coordination of care and continuity in patients’ overall eye health management.
